“What is faith?
It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.”
Hebrews 11:1 TLB
Today, more than ever, the world is in desperate need of hope.
It is therefore incumbent upon all of God’s people to both possess a deep understanding of how prayer works—as well as the skill to activate and employ it.
They must know who they are in Christ and how to operate in faith.
We must all become knowledgeable practitioners of the art and science of prayer.
Knowledge is power.
In my new book, The Atomic Power of Prayer, I walk you through the science as well as key tactical strategies for transforming your world through the masterful practice of prayer.
Once you understand the mechanics of how prayer works, you can more effectively harness the potential—and even expand the capacity—of your faith.
“By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed…that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.”
Hebrews 11:3 NLT
We are told by the writer of Hebrews that “faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see” (Hebrews 11:1 NLT).
Is there something you need or desire but cannot yet see? Are there dark places in your life or in the world around you in need of light?
Could it be that you are in possession of a reality-altering secret weapon?
According to E.M Bounds, “The ministry of prayer has been the peculiar distinction of all of God’s saints. This has been the secret of their power. The energy and the soul of their work has been the closet.”
I wholeheartedly concur. Prayer is the believer’s secret weapon—a smart bomb detonated from the quiet of remote closets everywhere.
Yet, while prayer might be likened to targeting a stealth drone with explosive power, faith is the detonator.
Hope grounded in faith expands energy.
Many of you don’t realize that when you pray, you are stirring up and amplifying creative energy—the same creative energy that created everything you see: The power of the Word spoken in faith.
It’s all about energy.
Albert Einstein, probably the most renowned scientist to have lived, used what has become the familiar E=mc2 formula to mathematically prove how energy is expanded.
In prayer, when you take a matter and multiply it by the light of God’s Word, you expand energy.
When you turn up your own energetic frequency to engage in prayer, something amazing happens in the realm of the spirit.
Although you may not see it immediately, your prayers are impacting and bombarding the spirit realm—which is the causal realm—inducing spiritual contractions that give birth to what you have conceived and believed for.
When you mix your prayers with faith, Scripture declares, “Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark 11:24).
Every day of your life you are transmitting an energy that creates an atmosphere around you.
You are literally “making waves.”
Some call it an aura, others think of it as an attitude or personal presence. I call it “faith.” Your faith-filled words have power, presence, and prophetic implications with no time or geographical limitations. Conversely, the same holds true when you speak words of fear or doubt.
With your faith “attitude”—transmitted through the energy of your thoughts and words—you are literally altering the very atmosphere and environment in which you live.
Your faith or fear is a force that creates a positive or negative magnetic field.
Like attracts like.
If this energy is faith-filled, you will attract the positive equivalence in physical or experiential manifestations—if it is fear-filled, you will attract the opposite.
If you want to see the quality of your life, ministry, business, or community upgraded, than upgrade the force of your faith.
By faith you can change the trajectory of any given set of circumstances.
God wants you to thrive without struggling. It is your faith that will take the struggle out of life and living. This is why Hebrews 10:38 states, “The just shall live by faith.”
Jesus came so you would have a richer, more abundant life (see John 10:10)—and your God-given agency to pray is the mechanism by which you activate the abundant life:
“In fact, it says, ‘The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.’ And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved” (Romans 10:4-10 NLT).
Did you get that? What you confess with your mouth becomes a reality; even your eternal salvation is sealed by your simple confession of faith. This is the simplicity of the Gospel.
You must have faith in the God who created you—that you are not a glitch, a mishap, or a random product of your environment. You are much more powerful than that.
You were created with great purpose and power—with the very nature of God (see 2 Peter 1:4) and the mind of Christ (see 1 Corinthians 2:16)—to “be strong, and carry out great exploits” (Daniel 11:32).
You are God’s power broker.
And it is through prayer you broker that power.
In the earth realm you are the agent—”the emissary, envoy, proxy, go between.” You represent heaven on earth as Christ’s ambassador; it is up to you to proclaim God’s will in a given situation.
Prayer activates your divine potential to change the course of history.
You don’t have to live as a victim of circumstances. Through prayer—declaring God’s Word in faith—you can alter the very atmosphere, climate, and environment in which you live.
Your prayers make a difference.
“How many will he find on the earth who have faith?”
Luke 18:18 NLT
