Persevere Until Success Happens!

“That’s why I don’t think there’s any comparison between the present hard times and the coming good times. The created world itself can hardly wait for what’s coming next…meanwhile the joyful anticipation deepens. All around us we observe a pregnant creation. The difficult times of pain throughout the world are simply birth pangs. But it is not only around us, it’s within us.”
Romans 8:18-25 MSG

It is amazing to me what great things come forth from the tiniest of packages. Things you can’t see, or perhaps even imagine, all begin in the obscure darkness of the smallest of containers.

There is incredible power and beauty resident in what may seem like a dormant cocoon—nature’s womb of beauty and incubator of divine purpose and splendor.

Like a grain of seed that is sown in the ground, life begins to stir, silently pushing against the confining barrier, and after what seems a lifetime of waiting, breaks through to grow into something magnificent.

Heat, gravitational opposition, and pressure cooperate with God’s symphony of life.

Energy is ignited. Life is triggered.

A mysterious internal mechanism gives forth to a brand new design; a unique expression of the Master Creator. A new form emerges—pressing and pushing outward—reaching upward—straining toward the light.

Energized by the silent force of metamorphosis, a new creation appears.

Everything you see began in seed form.

You began as a seed—like a butterfly hidden in a cocoon—only you were hidden in a womb.

All we are given in this life are seeds—seeds of potential, seeds of ideas, seeds of dreams. The key to a meaningful and joy-filled life is learning to unlock the potential of the seeds of possibility we’ve been given; to see beyond the exterior surface—or interior walls—of a mundane, nondescript cocoon, into new paradigms of power and majesty.

Imagine the butterfly, once a caterpillar—a slow-moving worm—that undergoes such a process.

Imagine the paradigm shift of having once been limited to crawling along the ground—then after a season of toil, being stripped of everything familiar, hidden in obscurity, imprisoned in solitary confinement, and then fighting with every ounce of strength to escape…finally emerging with wings to fly!

Each of us must undergo some type of metamorphosis in our lives.

We are all like the butterfly that must struggle to break through temporary confines in order to spread our wings and take flight.

Earth is our metaphorical chrysalis.

There will be seasons of toil, letting go of what we hold dear, of obscurity and confinement, and fighting to break free. It is how we become more. It is how we grow our spiritual wings. It is how we learn to fly and soar to new heights in God.

Each of us must learn to give birth to our own potential, purpose, and destiny.

We must learn to embrace God’s wisdom and His provision of grace that helps us to push through barriers.

We must learn to yield to the capacity-and-character-building process that ultimately strengthens and enables us to become more than we were before—to give birth to new possibility, new hope, new life.

In order to do that, we would do well to learn from midwives who understand the birthing process—who understand the inner workings of the womb and the process of labor and delivery, because like a cocoon, the womb is an incubator of unlimited potential.

It is for this reason I have written PUSH.

PUSH is a field guide for those who want to overcome their struggles, to push past barriers and tap into new realms of possibility; for those willing to learn how to persevere through prayer.

Originally, I titled this book, The Anatomy of Intercessory Prayer, because I explore in detail the anatomical process of praying until the solution materializes—or more accurately, persevering until success happens through prayer.

In PUSH, I explore the twenty-six wombs of the spirit; each I believe will open new doors of revelation to help you embrace the powerful potential residing in each “womb.”

There is a direct correlation between intercessory prayer and giving birth.

My intention in writing this book is to provide you with a literary midwife to help you push through your circumstances and bring forth all that God wants to birth in and through you.

I hope to help you see with new eyes all that is possible, to build your capacity to conceive, believe, and achieve more, and to give you a new mindset and paradigm for turning problems into possibilities—to see each obstacle as a new opportunity.

The pain and darkness you thought were working against you are the very crucibles from which new life emerges.

As I’ve read about the lives of great achievers, I have learned they all have one thing in common. Each one had to overcome some kind of challenge that threatened to derail them and cause them to abort their purpose.

Had they followed the road of least resistance or given in to their emotions, our world would not be as rich and vibrant as it is today.

Although we may not recall the names of each individual who has contributed to the progress of humanity, had they not followed the inner promptings of destiny and purpose—that small seed of potential lying dormant within them—we would not have the discoveries, inventions, art, technology, innovations, treatments, cures, or beauty that make up all that is good and life-giving in human civilization as we know it.

God is the source of all inspiration.

After reading so many biographies, it has become clear to me that throughout history, those who have made the greatest impact did so by faith.

They had to push beyond the known into the unknown. They had to find hidden reservoirs of strength in order to surmount the seemingly insurmountable.

Like so many I’ve had the privilege to read about, I too have had to dig deep into the reservoir of my faith to muster the energy and courage to face challenges, overcome obstacles, and push beyond my comfort level in order to accomplish a specific goal.

Life, growth, and progress are dynamic, never static.

Nothing and no one remains the same—we are constantly changing and growing.

Growth requires us to build our capacity to become more than who we were before. We must courageously press toward the unknown; we must continuously pursue growth even as we are changed “from glory to glory” (2 Cor. 3:18).

Even when it feels like we are stagnating, the most challenging thing can be to take that next step forward. We are always challenged to push ahead and press toward that higher calling.

“I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:14

Give Yourself the Gift of Change

“All the time we are being changed to look like Him, with more and more of His shining-greatness. This change is from the Lord Who is the Spirit.”
2 Corinthians 3:18 NLV

Life is characterized by change. From the world around us with the rising and setting of the sun—the changing tides, seasons, and weather patterns—to our very own cells that are continuously regenerating.

Change is happening all of the time, and each one of us is consciously or unconsciously a participant.

Change is a law of life.

I have learned that it is not the strongest that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the most adaptable.

The same is true for thriving, successful relationships—they must adapt to changing circumstances, needs, and seasons of life.

So many people seek to create richer lives and relationships, yet continuously do the same things over and over again—they simply refuse to adapt.

“Everything is either an opportunity to grow or an obstacle to keep you from growing. You get to choose.”
—Wayne Dyer

Overcoming challenging circumstances and resolving conflicts requires you to make choices that involve change.

In fact, if you want to grow in any way, you will have to embrace your incredible, God-given power to change. Change, after all, is from the Lord. (See 2 Cor. 3:18.)

If you want to improve your life, your relationships, your career—your mind, your soul, your body—or anything at all for that matter, you will have to harness the miraculous power God has given you to change.

The fruit of change is growth.

Last week I referenced Romans 12:2, where Paul instructs believers not to be conformed, but transformed.

We hear a great deal of teaching on the importance of renewing our minds, but not so much on the directive to “be ye transformed. What does it require to be transformed?

Transformation requires us to make a choice—to choose to change, to adapt, to adjust: To convert.

Whenever we’re told in the Bible “to do” or “to be,” that indicates a decision will have to be made.

“Today I have given you the choice…I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life!”
Deuteronomy 30:19 NLT

Oh, that you would choose to change—to be “transformed into a new creation” (Galatians 6:15).

As incredible as it may seem, many people never even consider entering into the process of change. They attempt to live cautiously, within the perceived safety of established patterns and routines. They pursue a formula they hope will protect them from failure, desperately trying to “make do” or “make something work”—be it a withering marriage, a dead-end job, or even an addiction.

Are you someone who repeats the same dead-end patterns day after day?

Sadly, maintaining the status quo seems to be the primary aim for most people. Most will go to great lengths to avoid “rocking the boat.”

Yet, if you want to make a splash in life, you’ll have to rock some boats!

And if you really hope to make waves, you’ll have to become a serious change maker—and that will require you to make some serious changes.

The more changes you are willing to make, whether creating new habits, learning to skills, or cultivating new relationships, the more capacity you will build.

Change builds capacity.

Don’t be afraid of change.

Harness the power to change so you can do more of what you love for whom you love; so you can maximize your potential to fulfill your purpose, be of greater service, leave a legacy, and be that history maker you were born to be.

Garner the courage to:

  • believe change is possible
  • trust yourself to change
  • move from the familiar to the unfamiliar
  • open your mind to new possibilities
  • cooperate with the process of change
  • feel vulnerable during times of change
  • let go of old habits
  • face new, unforeseen challenges
  • be the change you want to see in the world

What if you knew for certain that a particular change would lead to greater freedom, fulfillment, and joy? What if you could put aside any fear of failure, disappointment, or rejection?

What would it take for you to more fully embrace your power to change?

The greatest gift you can give yourself is the gift of change.

And the greatest skill you can acquire is that of learning to manage change. Yet, the secret to successfully managing change, is simply accepting that you must change.

When you change, you will find so does the situation. That is really all we are called to do. As Mahatma Gandhi so famously said, “We must be the change we wish to see.”

Dr. Viktor Frankl, a holocaust survivor, echoed this by stating, “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”

“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”
—Rumi

So what do you need to do to change?

Could things be the way they are because you are the way you are? What one thing can you change that will change everything?

Although you cannot go back in life to restart your beginning, you can start today to create a new ending.

How? By harnessing the power to change.

“See, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not be aware of it?”
Isaiah 43:19 MEV

Cultivate Good Thoughts For Success!

“You’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse.”
Philippians 4:8 MSG

If the mind can be likened to the soil of a garden, then thoughts would be the seeds we plant in that soil.

The average person thinks about 50,000 thoughts a day.

That’s a lot of seed being planted in the soil of your soul.

In her book, Who Switched Off My Brain, Dr. Caroline Leaf wrote, “What you think about expands and grows.”

How much of what you are sowing is fruit bearing and how much is more like thistle?

The starting point of all achievement is the mind.

A thought, like a seed, is a container of life potential that must be nurtured, fed, watered, protected, and harvested.

There are thoughts that hold the key to your future, and thoughts that can trip you up and choke the life force—that divine potential—hidden within the realm of cognition.

The quality of the harvest of your life is determined by the quality of the seeds you sow.

Those seeds are the thoughts you cultivate in your mind—thoughts that are tilled by the words you speak from your mouth.

Last week we talked about the power of prayer to change the world around you. Yet even more powerful is prayer’s ability to change the world within you.

Click here to download a fresh word to prosper your life!

Prosper your life by prospering your soul. Tell your mind how to think by speaking to it—by taking control of the words you speak over your life.

Your words determine your thoughts, and your thoughts determine who you are, what you do, what you acquire, where you live, whom you love, who you will become, and what you will accomplish.

Refuse to allow one word—one weed—to crowd out your seed of greatness, success, prosperity, wealth, righteousness, credibility, influence, affluence, favor, or peace.

You will never do anything more great than what your mind can articulate.

You will never have more, go further, or accomplish greater things than what you are able to comprehend, perceive, or visualize.

In fact, says Dr. Leaf, the thoughts of your mind create changes right down to your genes on a molecular level, restructuring the atomic composition of your very cells!

Scientists have shown that this restructuring is not only how diseases are able to take hold in the body, but more importantly, how they can be reversed.

When we choose non-toxic thinking, we step into a whole new realm of brain and body function.

Healthy, non-toxic thoughts help nurture and create a positive foundation in the neural networks of the mind.

Feel good chemicals are released that make us feel peaceful and promote healing, memory formation, and a deep sense of wholeness, that when combined together, stimulate your cells’ innate intelligence.

Think positively about where you want  your life—spirit, soul, and body—to be.

Your feet will never take you where your mind has never been.

Prosperity begins in the mind, and is impossible to cultivate with a negative mental attitude.

You must think peaceful, abundant, and prosperous thoughts before you will experience peace, abundance, and prosperity in your life. You must think successful thoughts if you hope to achieve success.

Your success hinges on your perception of your capabilities and potential. Don’t allow your thoughts and beliefs to be dictated by your moods, emotions, and feelings.

Work consciously on displacing negative thoughts with positive ones.

The beautiful thing about thinking is that it is something we all can do for free. Your background, education, socio-economic status, or IQ cannot prohibit you from thinking.

Yet, in order to do this, you must create a thinking habit, cultivate a healthy thinking environment, practice thinking for your self, and then learn to think outside of the box.

Never lose the power to think for yourself.

Your thoughts are powerful, and you have a God-given capacity to think potent thoughts. Grab hold of the concept of “possibility thinking.”

On the other hand, if you can’t think it, then whatever it is, it will not be possible for you.

Discipline yourself to think big: Exercise thinking big, amazing thoughts so you will experience a big, amazing life!

Take the limits from off your thinking. Remove the self-imposed lids. Author William Arthur Ward wrote, “Nothing limits achievement like small thinking.”

Your thoughts determine your destiny.

Think about your future and what you truly want to accomplish in life. Be willing to think bold thoughts—to think outside of the box.

That’s what a pharmacist named Dr. John Pemberton did when he took a jug of his cough syrup to a local drug store and while there thought of adding carbonated water. He bottled it and today there is hardly a person on the planet who is not familiar with the name Coca-Cola.

Pemberton was able to expand the field of possibility by expanding his ability to think.

“Your destiny determines your legacy, and…your legacy determines your history.”
—John Maxwell

Thought is defined as a mental picture of a future or possible event—an expectation or hope that something will happen.

Thinking involves the mental manipulation of information, as when we form concepts, engage in problem solving, and make decisions.

Thinking allows ordinary human beings to model their world and to fashion it according to their objectives, plans, goals, and desires.

Thought allows you to model the world according to your objectives and desires.

The power tool of your thoughts is the most important tool you have when it comes to framing your world.

Learn to focus your thoughts—to harness and use them for maximum results…because the quality of your life is determined by the quality of your thoughts.

You can begin today developing powerful thought habits that will turbo-charge your journey toward creating a history-making destiny.

“Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.”
Romans 12:2 NLT

Get Rid of ( ___________ ) Once and For All

“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
Isaiah 43:18–19 KJV

God is all about doing new things. Yet we as people, and most especially the Church, easily fall into the trap of doing things as we’ve always done them.

This is a season to embrace the new thing God is about to do in the earth. But to do that, you must position yourself to move in tandem with His Spirit.

As long as you are bound by the commonplace—cultural traditions, the opinions of others, or even your own comfortable patterns and routines, you will miss the new thing God is doing.

If we are to fully embrace the new, it is imperative that we first walk out of the old.

I believe we are in a time of great transition that is bringing incredible shifts and changes—both in the Church as well as in the world at large.

Of course you don’t have to be prophetic to discern the disruptive, climactic changes taking place across the earth both geopolitically and meteorologically.

For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.
Romans 8:22

Yet as I travel the globe as an ambassador of God’s Kingdom, there is a deeply felt sense that the entire cosmos is in a state of transition.

“Transition” is a word used to describe the most difficult phase of childbirth: the phase of labor just before the pushing stage when contractions become very strong and erratic.

What is particularly notable about this stage are the overwhelming feelings of confusion, uncertainty, and of being unable to cope.

Have you ever felt this way?

The good news is that if you have, you could be about to give birth to greater potential—to the promise of God you’ve been carrying.

How expectant are you?

If you are great with expectation, you know some things will have to change.

You will have to give up some things—old habits, behaviors, and ways of doing things. You may need to act, eat, and dress differently; and you will have to make way for some new things in your environment and schedule.

The trouble I see with many people looking to grow is that they fear change—they lack the confidence to let go of the familiar.

Embracing change takes courage—it takes faith and trust in God, as well as in yourself.

Sometimes in our personal and professional lives, as well as in our ministries, we have to be willing to do some pruning.

Any master gardener will tell you that for a garden to thrive, you must spend as much time—if not more—eradicating pests, eliminating weeds, and cutting away overgrowth as you do watering and fertilizing the soil.

You must also have clear boundaries in place and the means to enforce them.

Get clear on what belongs in your garden and what doesn’t.

Likewise, if you are to advance your ministry or business, you must have the courage to cut ties with certain influences and individuals.

You must act with boldness in getting rid of old techniques, programs, or protocols without being afraid of offending some person or group of people.

If you are to grow in any endeavor, there will be people and activities you must be willing to leave behind.

Losing a few people along the way is part of the process of growth.

God may prune people and old methods in order to multiply your influence in the place that He is taking you.

He may require you to put away—as in leave behind—former disappointments, failures, resentments, and hurts once and for all.

This is not a simple process. If it were easy to break free from associations or activities that hold us back—or our past mistakes, traumas, or heartaches that hang us up, everyone would do it.

We must overcome the past if we are ever to move forward.

Overcoming the past requires intentional effort. It not only requires key strategies and techniques, but also the diligence to persevere through the emotional discomfort change brings.

That is why I have written The Rules of Engagement for Overcoming Your Past—to give you tools that will help you break free from old ways of thinking, believing, and acting that are keeping you from walking in the fullness of your potential.

And it is why I have established Kingdom School of Ministry—to equip you with the divine downloads you need to not only break free from limiting paradigms and circumstances, but to break through to the next level of your calling.

“Do not remember the things that have happened before. Do not think about the things of the past.”
Isaiah 43:18

It all begins with leaving the past in the past.

And in regards to certain activities and people currently limiting your present, it means leaving them in the past as well.

Be forward thinking. Be willing to take a candid look at what you know is keeping you from moving forward.

And yet, to forget the old and move confidently into the new, we must address strongholds.

Strongholds are influences that diametrically oppose the Kingdom of God.

Strongholds can be demonic spirits that seek to keep you blind and powerless—or deeply rooted soul ties or emotional attachments that keep you bound in negative thought patterns and limiting beliefs (read Reclaim Your Soul for more on this topic).

You always have the power to expose and expel anything you don’t want working in your life. You alone have the power to command how you experience the present (read Commanding Your Morning for more on this topic).

Michael Miles, author of Thirty Days to Change Your Life, once wrote, “The present is always fresh. There is always a new choice to make, and you are always creating your life again. No matter what has happened in the past—whatever habits you have developed, however deeply ingrained are your patterns of behavior—there is always scope for you to choose a new response.”

You are given the opportunity to change and make changes every single day.

Don’t miss the ever-present opportunity to course correct by redirecting your thinking.

For those who are courageous enough to let go of the people, programs, or paradigms holding them back—or who are willing to release the pain of past rejection, disappointment, or failure—transformation awaits.

God wants to do a new thing in your life—and that begins with dismantling the forces working to suppress your potential in both your present and your past.

I encourage you today to reach for the prize of all God has for you!

“One thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:12

How to Change Your Future in 3 Minutes

“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Romans 12:2

If you’ve been following me for even just a few months, you’ve probably heard me say, “You are always one decision away from living the life of your dreams.”

You might have also heard me say, “Your destiny moves at the speed of thought.”

There are thoughts that hold the key to your future, and thoughts that shut the door on your potential.

The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your thoughts.

The reality you are experiencing right now—and therefore the direction your life is presently moving in—is a byproduct of how you’ve interpreted your personal history.

You choose the narrative. You choose the kind of stories your mind plays over and over; the scripts of those reruns are written and directed by you.

You have complete sovereignty over the territory of your mind.

If you want to change your life, change your mind—change the thoughts that make up your inner dialogue.

Why? Because, the stories you tell yourself about what has been, set the stage for what is possible. Likewise, the thoughts you think about who you are determine who you will become.

You will never become more tomorrow than who you think you are today. (See Proverbs 23:7; 4:23.)

You will you never go where your mind can’t take you.

So how do you redirect the course of your life? How can you, in the next three minutes, change your future?

Your future hinges upon you taking responsibility for how you think: Think for a change.

Only you can choose your thoughts—you alone are in possession of your mind, will, and emotions. It is up to you to “possess your soul” (Luke 21:19).

It only takes a few moments to become aware of the state of your mind. What are the negative interpretations of past events you repeat on an ongoing basis?

Self-awareness is the first step to creating change.

Get in the habit of acknowledging the self-defeating stories or the negative self-talk that repeatedly runs through your mind.

Once you identify negative thought patterns, you can begin to rewrite the narrative. Rescript the stories of your past with the redemptive truths found in God’s Word.

“Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”
Philippian 4:8 NLT

By taking every thought captive (see 2 Corinthians 10:5)—and putting on “the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16)—you position yourself to receive the wisdom and grace you need to overcome any setback or obstacle.

But it doesn’t stop there.

You have to align your words as well as your thoughts to the new storyline you create.

You must be as intentional with what you allow to come out of your mouth as with what you allow into your mind.

“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification… neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.”
Ephesians 4:29; 5:4

Your words—as are your thoughts—are of significant importance to God. The words you speak have power to create or destroy. (See Proverbs 18:21 and James 3:2-12.)

If you want an abundant future, speak prosperous words. If you want a healthy future, speak life-giving words. If you want a bright future, speak words of light, not darkness.

A word spoken in season can change the trajectory of your life.

“A man has joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good it is!
Proverbs 15:23

Create a bountiful future by cultivating the fruit of your lips: “From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things” (Proverbs 12:14).

Speak out the desires of your heart—give thanks as if they’ve already come to pass.

Job 22:28 sums up the power of your thoughts—or decisions—supported by the power of your words. Below is a compilation of several translations:

Decide on a matter…
pronounce something to be…
whatever you choose to do…
decide and decree…
and it shall be established for you.

Lastly, after you have paused to realign your thoughts, and then affirmed those thoughts with spoken words, you can begin to purposefully shift your energy.

Your energy follows your focus—and where you put your energy determines your future success.

Simply “act as if” you are already inhabiting the future of your dreams.

“If you want a quality, act as if you already had it.”
William James

To summarize how to change your future in three minutes (or less), take a minute to “think as if”…and another minute to “speak as if”…and another minute to “act as if.”

It sounds too simple, but it is simply creating a shift towards faith—a simple recalibration that can change any present moment into a divine opportunity to change your future.

Shifting how you occupy the present positions you to take possession of the future you dream of.

It’s not complicated or time consuming. It is simply allowing God’s Word to govern your thoughts, words, and actions.

As Paul told the Galatians, you “put on Christ, like putting on new clothes” (Galatians 3:27).

Try putting it into practice. What do you have to lose? Take three minutes right now to replace a life-draining thought with a life-giving thought, and then affirm that thought by speaking it out loud. Then stand up a little straighter, chin up, chest out, back straight. How does that make you feel?

Can you feel your energy shifting toward a brighter future?

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
2 Corinthians 5:17

The One Thing That Can Change Everything

Welcome to Easter Week 2016! All week long, denominations all over the world are celebrating the risen Christ.

“The Lord is risen indeed!”
Luke 24:34

There is nothing more worthy of our praise than the work completed on the cross and the resurrection power now working in our lives as a result.

And it is our praise and worship that create an atmosphere that ignites and fuels this resurrection power—for where there is praise, there is God’s power!:

“God inhabits the praises of His people.”
Psalm 22:3

Your ability (privilege and honor) to praise and worship is not only your own personal doorway to prevailing, overcoming, succeeding, and prospering—but also the key to significantly boosting the effectiveness of every prayer you pray.

Praise and worship give you an instant audience with God Almighty, ushering you right into His very presence. We are instructed to enter His courts with our praise before we ever approach His throne with our prayer.

“Enter into His gates with praise, and into His courts with rejoicing: Praise Him and bless His Name.”
Psalm 100:4

Nothing gets God’s attention like heart-felt praise and sincere, adoring worship.

Praise, however, is different from worship. You worship God for who He is; you praise God for what He’s done. And not only for what He’s done, but you utilize praise as a weapon of warfare.

Nothing leaves heaven until something leaves earth.

Praise is not just a celebration of God for doing something for you, but it’s a powerful spiritual weapon for securing those things that He is yet to do.

Being mindful and vocal about God’s faithfulness is a powerful expression that extends through every aspect of our personal lives, as well as the communities that surround us, and ripples even out to the wider world.

The more you praise and glorify God, the more you confound and constrain the enemy.

It has been suggested that one of the main reasons for the power failure in the Church today is that Christians have failed to minister to the Lord.

Effectiveness in ministry comes when our ministry to the Lord takes precedence over anything else we do—over our carefully planned programs, publicity campaigns, or catering to the needs, wants, and desires of our congregations and communities.

If that priority is reversed, the worship service or any other service we engage in becomes spiritually impotent. Vibrant, life-giving engagement is reduced to a noisy gong and a clanging cymbal, as spoken of 1 Corinthians 13:1.

The true essence of praise and worship is ministering unto the Lord.

As it relates to ministering to the Lord, upholding this one priority will yield supernatural results not only in your spiritual and personal development, but also in the development of your church and ministry.

It’s similar to the principle of seedtime and harvest—although one doesn’t plant the seed of praise and worship primarily for a harvest of blessing; yet, the all-sufficient God ensures a “return” of immeasurable value when the exchange occurs.

Praise and worship is an expressed posture of love toward the Master of Love Himself.

This type of intimate relationship rewardingly draws us into His divine presence, yielding more of His divine power and nature.

In order to know Him intimately and deeply, you must be caught up in the wonder of the person of Jesus Christ. It is “in the knowledge of Him” that we become perfected inwardly as well as outwardly in our service to Him. (See Eph. 1:17; Col. 1:10, 2 Pet. 3:18.)

Our constant prayer must be:

That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection.
Philippians 3:10

Likewise, this must be the constant work of the Church.

The Church is the Kingdom’s primary educational institution—where we grow in the knowledge of Him and learn to live and work in the power of His resurrection.

We, as the Church, are a royal priesthood tasked with proclaiming the praises of Him who called the world out of darkness into His marvelous light: “You are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted” (1 Peter 2:9-10 MSG).

The Church is to be a community of worshippers and a place of praise.

God is at the present time restoring praise to the Church. He is getting the “Body” ready for the return of the Lord.

As His Bride, praise is how we should be clothed. He gives us “a garment of praise” to wear in His presence, along with the oil of joy (think of Esther preparing herself to approach her husband and king).

Isaiah beautifully describes God’s intention for those who love Him:

“To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
—Isaiah 61:3 KJV

Praise is essential to living the Christian life. It is a garment that is to be worn by the Kingdom-oriented church and every Kingdom citizen within her ranks.

In the 21st century—and beyond should the Lord delay His coming—praise will become the “Prozac” of the Kingdom.

Praise is Heaven’s solution to depression, dis-ease, and despair.

All of which are manifestations of the spirit of heaviness.

Praise therefore preserves and cures us. Praise is our best prophylactic and immunity booster. It inoculates the Church against the epidemics of fear, strife, and depravity that plague the world.

The Gates of Zion (the Church) are referred to many times as “praise”…“Thou shalt call thy walls Salvation and thy gates Praise” (Isaiah 60:18 KJV).

Through praise we enter into a life of victory.

Jesus, as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah (Judah meaning “praise”), is the captain over a host of people who know the importance of praise.

We are also called to worship Him—as true worshippers in spirit and truth. (See John 4:24.) What does that mean? I believe The Message sheds fresh insight into how to put this into practice:

“It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.”

Let’s take a quick look at the origin and use of the word “worship” in the Bible. In the New Testament, we see two Greek words used in reference to worship:

1. Latreuo: This word is defined as “servitude; the state of a hired laborer or slave,” and therefore is used in reference to “the service of God.” All that we do because of our commitment to the Lord could be called worship. James refers to this as pure religion. (See James 1:27.)

2. Proskuneo: This describes the specific act of worship. It means “to prostrate oneself in homage; to adore; to bow down; to worship.” Comprised of pros (fore) and kuon (to kiss the hand, like a dog licking its master’s hands).

On the one hand, there is the worship we do in how we live and work—always doing all things “as unto the Lord.” On the other hand, there is a specific act of worship where we humble ourselves before God—when we prostrate ourselves before Him in reverence and awe.

Worship proceeds from the heart of the one who fears the Lord.

Jesus knew that both aspects of worship were important—that our whole life must be an expression of worship—and yet we must have specific times where we give all of our attention to Him.

As Jesus was being tempted in the wilderness, He reminded Satan, “You shall worship [proskuneo] the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve [latreuo]” (Luke 4:8).

“Worship the Lord your God and only the Lord your God. Serve Him with absolute single-heartedness.”
Luke 4:8 MSG

The practical adaptation of praise and worship in your personal life will cause you to reach beyond the pew and podium, transcend earthly constraints and inhibitions, and live a throne-room life—pure and uninhibited in the presence of the Lord.

It is my sincere prayer that you will experience God’s manifest presence as never before!

I pray you will be drawn into a new relationship with Him—that you will reach a new realm of spiritual maturity, acquire a deeper anointing in every aspect of your life, and manifest the power of His resurrection in all you do.

Join me for Kingdom School of Ministry to learn so much more about the art and science of Praise and Worship. It truly is the one thing that can change everything!

“Praise the Lord!
I will praise the Lord with my whole heart,
In the assembly of the upright and in the congregation.”
Psalm 111:1

“Let them shout for joy and be glad,
Who favor my righteous cause;
And let them say continually,
‘Let the Lord be magnified,
Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.’”
Psalm 35:27

Spring Into Newness of Life

“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
John 11:25-26

For many in the Church, this a solemn week—a Holy Week—as we mark the days leading up to the history-altering sacrifice Jesus made for humanity on the cross.

We are also joyously preparing to celebrate the newness of life that Christ’s resurrection provided when He rose from the grave three days later!

“He has risen, just as He said.”
Matthew 28:6

What a wonderful way to celebrate the first days of spring!

This past Sunday was not only Palm Sunday, but also the Spring Equinox here in the Northern Hemisphere. The change of season is official.

What once was dead is now coming life.

And that same power is at work in you.

The resurrection life that makes all things new is alive in every believer as a result of the cross…when God “took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ” (Ephesians 2:1 MSG).

This is what compelled Paul to say, “It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20 NLT).

At this time of year we are reminded about our true identity in Christ.

It is a time to reconnect with God’s original intent for our lives and recall who He has created us to become—a people set apart and set free from the slavery of sin and the bondage of death.

Passover, what we will celebrate this week as Good Friday, is a time to remember that it is only because of the blood of the Lamb—the shedding of Christ’s blood on the cross—that we are cleansed from all unrighteousness.

Feast days and celebrations have always been significant in the life of God’s people.

On the original Passover, God told the children of Israel still living in Egypt to smear the blood of a sacrificial lamb across the doorposts of their homes and said, “When I see the blood, I will pass over you” (Exodus 12:13 NLT).

So every Passover, the same Passover Christ celebrated with His disciples before going to the cross, we remember that it is the blood of the Lamb that brings life, peace, and hope.

Peter said having “been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. May God give you more and more grace and peace” (1 Peter 1:2 NLT)—and then added: “For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to . . . but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect” (1 Peter 1:18-19 NIV).

Only the blood of Jesus has the power to cleanse and restore peace to your soul.

Each time we partake of the Lord’s Supper “in remembrance of Him,” we are reminded that this resurrection power works in us.

Paul wrote about the newness of life that this meant to each person willing to smear Christ’s blood across the doorposts of their heart:

Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! . . . God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start” (2 Corinthians 5:17 MSG).

Simply put: “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (NLT).

Now that’s something to celebrate!

You are a new person in Christ with massively unlimited potential as you grow in the knowledge of Him.

This is why “feast days” and celebrations have always been significant in the life of God’s people; times of remembrance help us to grow in the knowledge Him.

In ancient Israel, at the end and beginning of any important season, the people were commanded to stop and celebrate—or rather commemorate and give glory to the One who brings the blessing and “makes all things new”—year after year, season after season.

Why?

Periodically we must stop to remember in Whose image we are created.

God understood the necessity for His people to establish regular intervals to stop and reconnect—to recall their true identity in relation to their Heavenly Father and the Creator of all things good and perfect.

This Easter Season, remember to pause for a moment; stop to give thanks and glorify all that God has done! Stir up your soul to bless the Lord and to “forget not all His benefits” (Psalm 103:2).

Be reminded of whom God created you to be—in Whose image you have been recreated and all that could mean to a hurting world if you truly embraced it.

Imagine what God’s nature working through you could do to heal a world made corrupt by evil desires.

This is what the Passover celebration is all about.

It is a time of remembering and reconnecting with your authentic, divine self—your resurrected, redeemed, recreated self.

Peter summed it up this way: “He has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature” (2 Peter 1:3-4 NIV).

As a new creation in Christ, you have been endowed with the same potential—no, even greater potential—to change the world as Jesus did when He walked the earth two thousand and sixteen years ago.

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.”
John 14:12 NLT

Think of what Mother Theresa, William & Catherine Booth, John Wesley, Charles Finney, Oral Roberts, and Billy Graham did to change the world they lived in!

And what about Martin Luther King Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, and Golda Meir—the list goes on and on of people—people who were but one singular person moved by something greater than themselves to bring transformation and healing to bear on the world around them.

Imagine what you could do in the knowledge of God!

Press into the potential inherent in the life of your own soul—for out of it flow the springs of life. (See Proverbs 4:23.)

Study the life of David.

David pressed into the Spirit of God and then embraced it and made it his own. He had a “heart after God” and a soul that made “its boast in the Lord” (Psalm 34:2)—David knew full well that the Lord “redeems the soul of His servants” (Psalm 34:22)—he understood and esteemed the value of his own soul and when all else around him seemed to be falling apart, he was able to say “all is well with my soul.”

David never hesitated to cry out to God, “My soul longs for your salvation; I hope in your word” (Psalm 119:81 ESV), or to continuously pray, “Invigorate my soul so I can praise you well, use your decrees to put iron in my soul” (Psalm 119:169 MSG).

Don’t neglect the life of your soul!

This week, as we acknowledge the life and death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ—and just as Jesus told His disciples toward the end of His earthly ministry—I encourage you to take full possession of your souls (see Luke 21:19)…

…for you are only at the beginning of walking in the newness of life God has prepared for you!

“Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives—now that we’re no longer shackled to that domineering mate of sin . . . we’re free to live a new life in the freedom of God!”
Romans 6:4 NLT; 7:6 MSG

The Real Problem With The Church

“Know the state of your flocks, and put your heart into caring for your herds.”
Proverbs 27:23 NLT

Did you know that each year four times the number of churches close down than start up? Or that while the US population has increased by 11 percent, church membership is down by 10 percent.

Less than 20 percent of Americans attend church. Not only is that number continuing to decline, but of those who do attend, an increasing number are attending less frequently.

More than half of all churches have not added new members for years.

I found it interesting to learn that at the close of the last century, there were 27 churches for every 10,000 people in the US, compared to only 11 churches per 10,000 people at the close of it.

Fewer are affiliating themselves with any particular church or church denomination, especially among millennials. What has happened?

What’s wrong with the Church?

Have you ever considered leaving church? Or have you become more complacent about attending regularly? If so, why do you think that is?

Perhaps the problem is that we don’t understand the real purpose of the Church as Jesus intended it.

Furthermore, not only should we be asking “What’s wrong with the Church?“, but we should also take a more candid look at what’s wrong with this world.

Why? Because when it comes down to it, our lack of understanding about the purpose of the Church is at the heart of what’s wrong with the world at large.

The error is the Bride of Christ’s lack of knowledge regarding her purpose.

Every individual who confesses Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord should, at some point, arrive at a place of seeking, understanding, and conforming to God’s purpose for His followers.

As members of His Body, we must each study to show ourselves approved as we are instructed in 2 Timothy 2:15:

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth” (ESV).

Only then will the Church succeed in fulfilling God’s original intent and purpose for its existence: Making known the manifest wisdom of God.

The Apostle Paul wrote about the power of God in the life of the believer more than anything else, but where he did reference the institution of the Church and its role in the earth, he was very specific:

“His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Ephesians 3:10-11 NIV

Make known the manifest wisdom of God to whom? To rulers and authorities in heavenly realms.

The Church as a corporate body is the governing entity charged with exercising authority over the powers and principalities that are currently holding the world hostage.

We are not called to take our battle to the streets, but to the heavens. Paul tells us that it’s not bad people that cause the bad things in our world to happen, but “spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places”…

“We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness.”
Ephesians 6:12

We “the Church” are the Body of Christ wielding all the power of Heaven just as Jesus did when He walked as a man on the earth.

It is clear then, when we use the term “church,” we are not talking about the four walls of a building, a preacher at a podium, and post-service prayer lines. We are talking about the Church within you, the believer.

In other words, the Spirit and mandate of Jesus Christ on display to effect change in your own life and in the world around you. “The Church” we attend on Sunday should be a training ground—a place where believers are equipped to take back territory stolen by the enemy—a place where believers join together to tear down strongholds and do battle in the heavenliness.

The English term “church” is derived from the Greek word ekklesia, which means “the called out ones.”

God has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.

In Romans 8:28, the Apostle Paul stresses that we have been called according to God’s purpose: “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

As it relates to the Kingdom of God, the Church, among other roles it plays, is an educational institution. This institution exists to transform individuals from citizenship to ambassadors.

The disciple, or “student,” learns diplomatic graces, receives a royal mindset, and learns how to navigate the earthly and spiritual worlds.

Individuals are also equipped to maximize potential and utilize divinely ordained gifts. Once you embrace the fact that you are valuable to the Kingdom of God, you will understand there are no limits to what God can do through you.

The Church must engage the powers that oppose God’s Kingdom.

Your eternal purpose is to demonstrate God’s authority in the earth realm as you manifest His presence and power. In other words, the Lord has need of the Church; and that church, my friend, is in you.

It is essential to understand that God is not in the business of limiting you, holding you back, or keeping you down…but in un-limiting you, lifting you up, and launching you out!

Too many churches are more preoccupied with members “toeing the line” as in “conforming to a rule of standard,” rather than the expression’s other meaning,”standing poised at the starting line of a footrace.”

You have a race to run. You are called not only to be a champion, but to champion a good cause. In fact, the very things that bother you, as a citizen of the Kingdom, also bother the King.

God placed you in the world to be a solution to its problems.

Are you ready with an answer when asked why you’re here? Do you understand your purpose? If so, is that purpose aligned with the purpose of the Church?

Whether you’re already living on purpose within the Church’s greater purpose, or hungry to learn more about both, join me this summer for Kingdom School of Ministry. You will walk away with a clear understanding of God’s purpose for you, His Church.

God intends to ignite your existence and, subsequently, your response to what He has in store for you and the world—as you fulfill your purpose.

“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.”
1 Peter 3:15

New “4 Points Broadcast” Live Streaming!

“I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected.”
Habakkuk 2:1

When we awake to the reality of the spiritual battles going on all around us, we immediately realize there are massive assaults being leveled at our loved ones, communities, our churches, and our nations.

The onslaught is not only continuous, but also compassionless—without regard for ignorance, innocence, or infirmity—therefore we must be ever more vigilant to “stand our watch” and “see what He will say.”

I believe that God has called me to be a voice of hope and reason to the nations during these turbulent times. That is why I am going to utilize the power of technology to touch the four corners of the earth through Live Streaming!

To that end we are excited to announce the launch of our 4 Points Broadcast! We will be streaming live every 1st and 3rd Thursday from this website. Just click the “Watch Live” tab at the top of this site or visit cindytrimmministries.churchonline.org

Join us as we stand watch together to see what the Lord would say to His people in this hour.

This is not a time to wait for the next missile launch, the next sabotage attempt, or the next “hitman” to be deployed before you spring into action.

Join me every third Sunday as we press into God’s command center—the Throne Room of Heaven—and receive our directives from the Commander-in-Chief of the universe.

Then, as we hear, we will know how to answer. We will know how to course correct as we occupy new territory in advancing the Kingdom of God.

“Then the Lord answered me and said: ‘Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.’”
Habakkuk 2:2

I find it interesting that when Habakkuk determined to “keep watch to see what the Lord would say” (NLV), that immediately the Lord instructed him to “write the vision and make it plain.”

He goes on to instruct him to “wait for it, because it will surely come…it will speak, and it will not lie” (Habakkuk 2:3).

A vision inspired of God is a powerful tool—a powerful weapon we can wield in the war on darkness.

A vision gives light, understanding, purpose, and clarity. When you can see a desired result in your mind’s eye, a divine outcome that God has put before you, you can move boldly in that direction. You can run with it!

In the very next verse of this passage is where we read, “the just shall live by faith” (Habakkuk 2:4).

A vision, simply put, stirs your faith. You can’t “call those things which be not as though they were” (see Romans 4:17) if you can’t first envision those things.

Get God’s big, bold vision for you. Grasp hold of the power you have to foil the enemy’s plans—to champion a good cause and not allow evil to thrive unopposed.

God is a God of big vision. Be a person of big vision.

Don’t allow Satan’s plans to come to pass! Not today. Not on your watch. Not ever. Enforce the original plans and purposes of God over and above any plan of the enemy to do you or those you love harm—and then widen the circle of those you love!

Every attack leveled against humanity opens a door of opportunity to plunder the enemy’s territory instead of the other way around.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper.
Isaiah 54:17

God has given you the power to shut down every initiative instituted by anyone or anything that moves by satanic impulse. Their provocations to attack you shall serve you instead!

This is the inheritance of the Lord that will propel you in fervent determination to battle in prayer.

God hates what the enemy does to His people.

When you war on behalf of your family and friends, nation and the world, war with a righteous passion—a passion born out of a love for God and for everything He created on this earth.

With the love of God as a constant companion, passion speaks to the depth of our love returned to God, no matter where we are in our prayer journey.

When you are in a temporary place of separation for the sake of personal growth or sanctification, whether in a winter season, desert time, or other isolating trial, your total dedication to the process of prayer and your reliance on God will deepen your walk.

As you rely on Him alone—trust in Him alone—He becomes your salvation in new and wonderful ways.

The God who saved you has equipped you for and before each and every battle.

The art of war begins with securing the lines before pressing into an offensive against the gates of hell.

If you watch the nightly news, you learn that major ministries tend to fail because of things that are within their own borders of authority—not because they have been overcome by reaching out to take new territory for God.

Ministers fall into sexual sin because they have not taken the proper precautions to guard themselves against it—or their finances fail because they do not discipline their spending or accounting procedures properly.

Many fail because they fall into pride and it opens them to all kinds of difficulties.

They stop relying on prayer, or think they don’t have time to seek the “Lord of their work” because they are too busy for—and too necessary to—”the work of their Lord.”

Defeat comes because they have not properly guarded their hearts or their homes, not because they have not launched the proper offensives.

It’s so important to order your own house, beginning with your own soul, before taking any fight to the streets—or to the front lines of the world’s battles.

“Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked.”
Habakkuk 2:4 NLT

The first priority of spiritual war, therefore, is to humble yourself before the mighty hand of God (1 Peter 5:6). Walk in the Spirit so you do not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).

Once the borders of your domain are secured, only then can you think about taking the fight to the enemy.

Stand your watch and set yourself on the rampart of your life—and then watch to see what He says to you!

“So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll get on your feet.”
James 4:10 MSG

P.S. Don’t forget to tune in every 1st and 3rd Thursday as we livestream our all new 4 Points Broadcast!

Learn the Art of War for Spiritual Battle

“Prepare for battle! Soldiers at attention! Present arms! Advance! Turn your shovels into swords; turn your hoes into spears. Let the weak one throw out his chest and say, ‘I’m tough, I’m a fighter.’”
Joel 3:9-10 MSG

The call to arms to pray has never changed since the prophet Joel wrote these words.

Today, with all the turmoil in the world and in our lives, I want to share some thoughts from The Art of War for Spiritual Battle—a powerful prayer strategy book that is very close to my heart.

Although prayer is the simplest of practices, it is also the most mysterious of spiritual disciplines.

Within prayer lies the master key to everything God wants for you and those you love, and yet no other aspect of following God seems more difficult to fathom.

While bowing your head and turning your thoughts and words toward God is as easy as sitting down to coffee with a friend, what transpires is the most multifaceted and mystifying journey in the universe.

Prayer is a quest surpassing anything you’ll ever read about in an epic novel or adventure story.

It is in prayer that we probe spiritual realities, communicate with God, access the arsenal of heaven, and expand God’s Kingdom on the earth.

It is as simple as pulling aside to a quiet place and opening your heart to God, and as dynamic as tapping into the power and imagination that created the cosmos.

As with God, nothing is impossible, so it is that through prayer, nothing is implausible.

Prayer gives heaven permission to invade earth. Through this discipline, we are able to pray heaven down to keep hell from rising.

You must fully embrace that God will never abandon you, but is ever-present wanting to work His will in your life. As Theresa of Avila said: “All difficulties in prayer can be traced to one cause: praying as if God were absent.”

God is right here with you, living inside of you, ready to release His Kingdom through you, because “the Kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:21).

Every believer is equipped with an arsenal of incredible life-altering and world-changing power.

For those who rightly esteem the privilege of accessing God’s armory of possibilities, each word spoken through or by that person holds enormous, innovative potential and creative power.

The Father has entreated each one of us to be involved in a dialogue that marshals angels and sets forth the weaponry of war—weaponry that impacts the spiritual realm and affects how events unfold in the natural world.

God is waiting for those who have the courage to step up and take their place in the highest ranks of His army.

God has enough privates; what He desires today are generals who will pay the price of dedication and discipline to hear His divine strategies and implement them upon the earth.

By going into prayer, rather than striving with those around you—using worldly tactics hampered and confused by human motives—you signal your dependence on God and your trust in Him as the source of all real hope. You acknowledge that the only things that will last are those born in the strategic command center of His throne room.

Communicating with God declares your commitment to seek His strategies and care for the objects of His affection.

God’s communication with you marks the anticipated change of regime as “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ” (Revelations 11:15).

It shows your intention as a believer to annihilate barriers and hindrances—those things that divide the army of God into factions and divisions the devil can manipulate and keep ineffective—refusing to erect your own throne and kingdom where only His is intended to be.

Your times of intense prayer will not only affect present circumstances and conditions, it will also give you a future hope.

Whatever God births through you in prayer, He is also required to sustain.

You see, it doesn’t matter what human beings formulate, plan, and strategize upon the earth, for all of it will ultimately come to nothing.

Your heavenly Father is a big God who created a big world for you to do something big in. He is always trying to communicate with you. Prayer is the means by which you engage Him in the affairs of your life and of this world.

There is a big conversation going on. God is sharing some big ideas.

What you need is to get in on the big conversation going on in heaven’s war room right now. According to Jeremiah 7:13, God is always speaking. Are you listening?

If you participate in prayer correctly, consistently, faithfully, and persistently, God will let you listen in on that conversation and overhear exactly what it is you need to do to continually advance in your life, fulfill your purpose, and maximize your potential.

The problem is, as with any form of communication, correctly interpreting what you are hearing can be tricky.

The communication of heaven is seamless and eternal.

Yet heaven’s communication is easily lost here where we live in the massive stream of constant stimuli and static.

This is why you must consistently clear your calendar and reconfigure your daily agenda so that you can learn the art of strategic prayer.

This will allow you to plumb the depths of the spirit, to navigate new spiritual terrain, and to conquer old enemies of your soul.

Develop within you the “knowing” that you have received the messages sent.

Prayer creates hedges of protection that keep you and your loved ones safe, provides the strategies of heaven that will give you victory, knits you together with others of like precious faith to form the army of God, and builds within you the strength of character to see the battles through to their victorious end.

Without these principles and practices, you can argue with people until you are blue in the face about the truths of God, and all they will do is laugh—but by utilizing your prayer arsenal you grant God permission to intervene so that even the most hard-hearted will topple to their knees before His throne.

There is a war being waged for the souls of the earth, and if you haven’t stopped to look lately, the good guys aren’t gaining much ground.

The only way to turn that tide is to fight again like the evangelists and revivalists of old did.

I’m not saying we need to go back to their methods necessarily, but we do need to get God’s strategic directives for our time just as they did for theirs.

God is looking for leaders, for generals, to organize and lead that charge, but He first needs to know that they are skilled and disciplined in the art of spiritual war.

Are you willing to do what it takes to be among them?

I believe that we are in a generation that will again see great generals of prayer—but it will not come easily.

Like the five virgins who ran out of oil waiting for the bridegroom to come and thus missed the wedding celebration, this call will pass over those who are not filled with the Spirit to the point of having more than enough.

Will you be one who grabs hold of the strategic concepts of spiritual war to change your city, your state, your nation, and your world?

Or, when Christ calls, will you be caught ignorant, unprepared, and lacking?

God is waiting for you to step up and become a disciplined leader in His army—a leader who knows how to employ His tactics with precision and unleash His cosmic weapons of mass salvation.

Are you ready to enlist in the ranks of God’s generals of prayer? Training begins now.

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”
2 Corinthians 10:3-6
