A Case For Faith & Hope

Dear Community,

These are unprecedented times for the global human family. When fear and uncertainly threaten to darken so many hearts and minds, we as God’s people must rise up to offer a beacon of light and hope that is steadfast and sure. It is incumbent upon each of us to turn toward God, listen for His voice, and then walk and speak in faith:

“For everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock…the winds blew and beat against that house [and the schools closed, store shelves were emptied, public events were canceled, and countries closed their borders]; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”
(See Matthew 7:24-25)

Let’s not forget this “hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast” (Hebrews 6:19)—while remembering, especially now, that Christ came that we might have life and have it more abundantly (see John 10:10).

Our culture is being tossed about by waves of fear and panic, thoughts of dread and scarcity, mistrust and anxiety; but I want to build a case for faith and hope—faith in knowing that within our global collective in times past and in the most challenging moments, there always arose great innovators, dreamers, and “imagineers” who pushed humanity forward with their novel ideas, scientific breakthroughs, and life-saving innovations.

God works through human potential—most especially when the enemy attempts to suppress or destroy it. From the invention of penicillin to chemotherapy, we see how human potential finds its fullest expression in the midst of history’s darkest hours. Cultural points of inflection prompted by disasters, wars, plagues, and disease brought us to revolutionary discoveries that went on to strengthen humanity for generations.

We are now in the midst of another historical pandemic that will be recorded in the annals of history. What new life-changing innovation might we discover? As previous pandemics alerted the way we think and do life as a species, so the coronavirus presents new cultural, social, scientific, economic, geopolitical, and governmental challenges that lead us again to an opportunity to push humanity forward.

The world into which we were born no longer exists. There is a demand for new industry-specific thought leadership, requiring new types of behaviors and skill sets. Our educational institutions must prepare students for new and emerging socio-political challenges and global dilemmas. I believe the educational space should focus more on the need for critical thinking and problem-solving than on merely bestowing degrees. The 4th Industrial Revolution is here. The future is now.

And now is the time to find a new way forward.

The novel coronavirus is a communicable disease demonstrating sustained person-to-person transmission that is spreading like wildfire through our communities. What should our faith-based response be beyond prayer?

As pastors and parishioners, we can actively engage in creating cultures of awareness and empowerment. We can stay informed as we endeavor to always be aware, yet never afraid. We must equip ourselves to think like problem solvers—and then conscientiously engage in public discourse and crisis management forums. We should be the innovators of new and creative ways to communicate, network, and convene—all for the purpose of informing, comforting, and encouraging a world desperate for light, hope, and love.

And we must pray.

  • Pray for caregivers and health professionals
  • Pray for governments and government agencies
  • Pray for medical and scientific breakthroughs
  • Pray for the health of our communities, institutions, and nations
  • Pray for leaders, and that we might also lead

As a faith-based community, we have a powerful voice—both a social and political voice, as well as a spiritual voice. With the same boldness we approach heaven, so should we approach the institutions and systems of this world. Now is the time to lift up our voice and make it heard on behalf of humanity in both government halls and heavenly realms. The world needs the wisdom, compassion, and counsel of God’s people.

In my dreams, I see a world filled with visionaries, innovators, and dreamers who push humanity forward and inspire others to do the same. I am a believer. I believe in who we are as people—as creative beings—and that we should never sell ourselves short of our true potential. Together, we can win the war against the coronavirus and any present or future malevolent force that threatens our existence.

With faith and hope,

-Dr. N. Cindy Trimm

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray,
and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Take Hold of New Life at Kingdom School of Ministry!

“We have therefore been buried with Him through baptism into death so that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory and power of the Father, we too might walk habitually in newness of life.”
Romans 6:4 AMP

Many Christian traditions celebrate Easter and the Lord’s resurrection throughout the entire week following Easter Sunday, called “Bright Week” in the Orthodox Church.

In fact, most liturgical churches observe “Eastertide”—or the “Easter Season”—for the 50-day period between Easter Sunday and Pentecost Sunday.

Commemorating the Resurrection of our Lord should not be limited to a single day!

Let’s continue to celebrate and “walk habitually in newness of life”!

As spring dawns here in the northern hemisphere, we see the powerful forces of new life “springing up” all around us—new hope as all things are “made new.”

The word new in the new life described by Paul in his letter to the Romans connotes “continual renewal.”

Renewal is to be a way of life; not a one-time event when you are born again.

This “resurrected life” you’re called to requires you to continually renew your mind (see Romans 12:2) by becoming a life-long student of the Word of Truth (see 2 Timothy 2:15).

There is no other way for you to firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is concerning your life (see Ephesians 5:17). You must become a person “who knows how to use the word of truth to the best advantage” (2 Tim. 2:15 PHILLIPS).

This is what Kingdom School of Ministry equips you to do.

Register NOW for KSM Atlanta July14-20!

The resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead is working in you by His Holy Spirit—it is the same dynamic power that causes your life to be radically transformed when you invite Christ into your heart (See 2 Corinthians 5:17)—and it’s the same power by which God uses you to transform the world.

Now, more than ever, the world needs God’s people to step up and make the most of the limitless power available to them in Christ.

Don’t put your life on hold one more season!

There is no better time for you to learn how to maximize your Kingdom potential.

This week, I want to encourage you to keep on pursuing the new life God continues to have for you!

Tapping Into God’s Limitless Resources

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Hebrews 11:1

In our last Empowered Livestream, we left off our discussion talking about the force of energy inherent in our thoughts.

We talked about how to harness the power of that energy by understanding the law of protocol.

If you want to upgrade your circumstances, upgrade your protocols.

We learned from Job that what you think about comes about.

You must maintain a positive mental attitude—an attitude of gratitude—if you want to create an energetic field that will increase the substance of your faith.

That substance is nothing more than energy.

How are you converting the limitless energy available to you?

As often as people pray amiss, they give amiss—they give without understanding the laws governing the conversion of energy.

For example, when you are able to masterfully hone your energy, it is converted into skill; when you can expertly hone your skill, it is converted into wealth.

Join me Thursdays at 7pm ET as I continue to unlock practical keys to harvesting a maximum return on whatever you sow in the Kingdom.

Gather your life group and discuss how you can apply the principles you’ve learned from this week’s teaching.

Tap Into Heaven’s Provision

“Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to your people…that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones.”
Psalm 106:4-5

For many people, achieving financial prosperity seems like wishful thinking. Maybe you feel the same way.

Perhaps you’ve dreamed of getting ahead, but never seem to be able to move beyond making ends meet—even while those ends keep moving further apart.

Contrary to common perceptions in the Body of Christ, God wants His children to prosper!

Throughout Scripture, we see that God not only gives His people opportunities to prosper, but He also delights in their prosperity.

Indeed, the King’s children shall enjoy the wealth of the wicked (Proverbs 13:22), live an abundant life (John 10:10), prosper (3 John 2), and succeed (Joshua 1:8).

The fundamental principles that release God’s provision to His people are clearly outlined in His Word.

Firmly grasping the rules that govern heaven’s economic system will not only equip you to take authority over your own wealth—but also to tap into the limitless resources available for Kingdom growth and advancement.

“Follow the terms of this covenant, so that you may prosper in everything you do.”
Deuteronomy 29:9

Throughout the Bible, God uses everyday examples to illustrate these laws, yet we sometimes miss their significance because we don’t live in the cultural context of that era.

The blessings listed in Deuteronomy 28 are a case in point. Here you’ll find a wealth of insight about financial prosperity and how to grasp hold of it.

“The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand.”
Deuteronomy 28:8

As outlined in the writings of Moses, the Hebrews farmed and measured what they needed each year in terms of storehouses.

These storehouses were where they housed and kept their produce safe until another harvest could be gathered to replenish the previous year’s storehouse.

Storehouses were built to store what God had provided through the productivity of His people.

The Israelites were used to living with at least three storehouses of grain at all times—two or three years of income stored away to cover their needs. To have less was foolhardy; to have more was unnecessary.

Two to three years of reserves were all the grain they needed at all times unless there were catastrophic problems like multiple years of drought, war, or famine.

Wisdom dictated they have at least three storehouses…

…faith and their relationship to God would take care of the rest.

People didn’t live hand-to-mouth unless they were beggars.

They didn’t spend this month’s paycheck to pay for this month’s rent or have to wait until payday to buy groceries because they had nothing in their checking account (yes, bank accounts are a form of storehouse).

Storehouses set very real limits.

There was only so much grain in the storehouse—once it was empty, there was no more.

In that respect, storehouses are very different from bank accounts today. If we need more, we can always borrow—and that is where many of us get into trouble.

“The borrower is a slave to the lender.”
Proverbs 22:7

This is why budgeting is so important. Each budget category is like a storehouse if we keep our budgets correctly. When the money in that category is gone, we stop spending.

At the same time, our budgets should include bigger “storehouses” for things such as an emergency fund, a college fund, and a retirement fund for the day we can pay ourselves to do what God wants us to do.

The more wisdom we obtain in this area, the wealthier we will be.

Think of Joseph who built storehouses in times of plenty in preparation for times of drought.

When Jesus tells the parable of the Rich Fool in Luke 12:16-21, the audience knew that storehouses were important for survival. They knew they had to save in order to have several months of reserves in case of a calamity.

At the same time, they knew that whatever they had beyond that amount was more than enough—and could be used to build God’s Kingdom and help others.

Today, we should have the same mentality of saving.

We should not only have money to take care of ourselves no matter what we face—but because we’ve predetermined what the size our storehouses should be, whatever else can be given away or invested in Kingdom endeavors.

Next week we will talk about what you need to know to give and invest strategically.

As Deuteronomy 28:8 makes clear, God blesses you and everything you set your hands to when you follow His mandates for how to manage your money—or, rather, His resources.

The Art and Science of Vision

“If there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream.”
Numbers 12:6 NKJV

God is raising up visionaries in this generation whom He is going to use to push humanity forward.

A vision is a heavenly pattern given to an individual who causes it to become a reality within a specific time, generation, duration, and space in history.

Visionaries are history makers

Visionaries are individuals who seemingly build something out of nothing—something that never before existed.

A vision will give you clear reference points and a measuring rod for success according to Kingdom standards.

Your vision is a powerful spiritual motivator that will bring clarity to your call.

Press into the truths God is revealing about how you can tap into your greater potential by discussing the 25 principles found in Scripture.

Read Hebrews 8:5

What did God show Moses and why?

What can we learn from this example?

Read 1 Chronicles 28:11-12

How is a vision different from a dream?

What are the six stages of motivation?

Read Job 33:14-18

What does a vision help you to do?

What does vision prevent you from doing?

Read Acts 16:9-10

What can we learn about vision from this passage of Scripture?

How have you experienced this in your own life?

Read Genesis 11:1-9

What do these verses show us about the power of imagination and communication?

With whom might you share your vision to accomplish the impossible?

Read Job 32:8-9; 33:14-18

Discuss what you are able to discern from these passages of Scripture.

How can you put these principles into practice?

Read Joel 2:28

Discuss the implications of this promise.

How are you seeing this truth revealed in your life?
