Get Clear About The New Year

“This month shall mark for you the beginning of the months; it shall be the first of the months of the year for you.”
Exodus 12:2

Today marks the beginning of the New Year on the Jewish calendar.

Rosh Hashanah is a high holy day that commemorates the creation of the universe—the birth of the cosmos.

The word Rosh Hashanah literally means, “head of the year.”

It is a time of new beginnings, a time to take stock of where we are and envision all that is possible—a time to set goals and get clarity.

Now is the time to make the most of the last 100 days of this calendar year…to align yourself with what God is doing in these momentous times.

Don’t wait one more day.
Get your copy of Hello Tomorrow NOW!

And don’t put off registering for what will be the most powerful End Your Year Strong event ever!

Brace yourself for the prophetic shifts taking place in all spheres coming to pass in the year ahead.

Register NOW!

Put yourself at the epicenter of empowerment this December 7-8 in Atlanta!

Know that you are here at this time in history on assignment. You are chosen “for such a time as this” to prosper in the plan God has for you. (See Jeremiah 29:11.)

This week, as we mark “the beginning of the months” as ordained by God in Exodus 12:2, take time to reflect on why you are here at this significant time in history.

Get clear about who you are and why you are here—your true identity and purpose.

This is why I wrote Hello Tomorrow, and why I want you to join me at this year’s End Your Year Strong.

We will focus on clarifying and refining your vision for greater impact and success in this prophetic season.

Now is the time to position yourself for all that lies ahead from today forward—because a person of faith doesn’t just step into the New Year, they lean into it.

This is going to be a year of radical transition.

God has been downloading so much about the significance of the year 5779—and the powerful spiritual principles we need to be harnessing as we move into 2019.

Today, be mindful of this sacred time of year: Rosh Hashanah—a celebration of new beginnings and new life—always celebrated in the seventh new moon of the year.

Traditionally, this first of the Jewish “High Holidays” is celebrated by eating apples and honey as a remembrance of God’s abundance and the sweetness of life…

…and is commemorated by blowing the “shofar” as a call to action and promise of God’s deliverance.

“When you go into battle…sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the Lord your God and rescued from your enemies.”
Numbers 10:9

This is a beautiful opportunity to rededicate our lives to God, reflect on His goodness, remember His faithfulness, and reach inward to hear His Spirit speaking to our spirits.

It is a time of restoration for the people of God—a time to renew our hope and expectation of yet greater things—a time to get clear about who we are and why God has placed us on the earth at this time.

I will be teaching about this prophetic season at End Your Year Strong December 7-8 in Atlanta, GA!

For now, be encouraged, be expectant, and begin preparing your heart for all God has in store for you.

Get clear on what God is calling you to do…and then be diligent in your pursuit of it!

“So be very careful how you live. Do not live like those who are not wise, but live wisely. Use every chance you have for doing good, because these are evil times. So do not be foolish but learn what the Lord wants you to do.”
Ephesians 5:15-17 NCV

Boldly Shape Your Future

“Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.”
Proverbs 4:25

How far could you go if you put your mind to it? If you fixed your eye on a future you want to see.

How could you shape the world if you harnessed your best ideas, focused your energy, and whole-heartedly explored what you are truly capable of?

“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.
—T. S. Eliot

We live in a time ripe with opportunities for those willing to push the envelope, who refuse to march in step with the status quo; the revolutionaries, disruptors, and change makers.

Those willing to break rank, break through boundaries, and break the mold are the ones who will shape the world of our future.

Ultimately, the world belongs to those willing to shape it.

The average person is not willing to take the kind of risk that is required to be an influencer.

If you are going to shape the world, let alone your own future, you must be willing to take risks—you must be willing to leave the familiar behind.

“History favors risk-takers.”
—Iveta Cherneva

The average person is perpetually distracted by what I call “common chaos” because it provides a familiar busyness that feels safe and self-justifying.

Risk takers are men and women of faith who are not afraid to go out on a limb.

I’m reminded of Jesus who invited Peter to take the risk of walking on water. And even though Peter eventually began to sink, he was not afraid to take the risk.

“So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.”
Matthew 14:29

Risk takers are water walkers; they leave the shore of comfort and the realm of the familiar to navigate the sea of unlimited possibility. They are willing to cast their nets into the deep.

The world was built by people who took risks: Pioneers who were not afraid of the wilderness; scientists who were not afraid of being ridiculed; thought leaders who were not afraid of progress; politicians who were not afraid to challenge the status quo; entrepreneurs who were not afraid to ask, “Why not?”; dreamers who were not afraid to risk taking action.

Risk is a consequence of action taken in spite of uncertainty.

If you’re going to establish anything that is new; create anything that is new; innovate anything that is new—if you’re going to make an impact, it’s going to take some degree of risk.

The American Heritage Dictionary defines risk as “the possibility of suffering harm or loss” or “the potential of losing something of value,” yet I discovered risk is also defined as “intentional interaction with uncertainty.”

When you take a risk, you are risking a potential uncertainty—an unpredictable, un-measurable, uncontrollable outcome.

But let me ask you this: What if that outcome is not necessarily something negative?

What if the outcome is unprecedented success, prosperity, and happiness?

Would you take the risk then?

Many people have a “want to” in their spirit, but they allow fear to immobilize them because they are always asking, “What if it doesn’t work out?”

But what if it does?

What if stepping out of the boat or investing in that venture or simply speaking up changes the game for you and those you love?

How can you become that game changer that opens up new possibilities for everyone?

This is what shaping the world is all about—it’s why I’m passionate about equipping you to change the game for those around you as well as future generations to come.

Be counted among the ranks of women committed to shaping the world for themselves and others.

Learn how you can build greater capacity to take the kind of risks that will garner game-changing payoffs.

Preparation for Acceleration

“For many are called, but few are chosen.”
Matthew 22:14

When God calls, will He find you ready for your mission on the earth?

Throughout the lives of the great Bible heroes, we see two distinct events occurring: being called and being separated.

Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.
Acts 13:2

Paul had been called to the work of God since before he was born (see Gal. 1:15), but would not be separated into that calling until he became the person able to walk in that calling.

There is always a time of preparation during which both study and prayer are major components.

Where will you be when God comes to you with His greater plan for your life?

Will you be ready to step into it, or will you need to be schooled on the backside of the desert like Moses—or go through a humbling process as rigorous as Joseph’s?

The difference will always be determined by the quality of your prayer life.

When God found Saul (who would become Paul) on the road to Damascus, He found a person full of religion and knowledgeable of the Scriptures, but ignorant of who God really is.

Saul was so zealous for “righteousness,” he was willing to instigate murder to protect religion as he knew it.

The ultimate truth is not found in religion, it is found in Jesus.

Certainly we can learn from religion as a way of pursuing God, but we must come to Jesus to truly understand God.

Paul could have wasted his entire life trying to please God in his own way, but when he met Jesus, everything changed. Paul turned his zeal to prove himself into becoming a man of prayer hungry to know Jesus through the Spirit and the Word.

Because Paul sought Jesus with such intensity, it was to Paul that God revealed the architecture of the Church—and not one of the other apostles. This is why Paul was the primary writer inspired by God to pen the New Testament.

What changed in Paul?

We read about it in Acts 9, immediately after he encounters Jesus on the road to Damascus: “He was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank” (Acts 9:9).

Though it doesn’t say it directly here, I can’t believe Paul only fasted during this period. I believe for the first time in his life, he also began to truly humble himself and seek God.

In Galatians, he adds, “I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood” (Gal. 1:16), inferring that his initial years as a Christian were not in being taught by the disciples, but…

…being taught by Christ Himself through prayer.

Though it is possible Paul may have heard Jesus speak in person, there is no historical record of it. I think Paul would never have been the persecutor he became had he ever met Jesus in the flesh.

And because he was the only early apostle who didn’t know Jesus as a human being, his role became a foundational one.

Like those who would follow in the centuries to come who could not walk with Jesus as Peter, John, and the rest of the disciples had done,

Paul would be the Apostle who best understood the nature of the Church—

—the fellowship of all the people to come who could only know Jesus through prayer and the Bible.

Though meeting Jesus face to face on the road to Damascus changed the direction of Paul’s life forever, it was no overnight transformation.

It would take roughly seventeen years of prayer and study for him to become the man we know as Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles. (See Galatians 1:18-2:1.)

Thus we see two distinct events occurring in the lives of our greatest Bible heroes.

There is a point of calling and a point of launching into that calling.

We see there is always a time of preparation in which intimate, consistent prayer is a major component.

For Paul, as it had been for Joseph, that preparation happened after the first major revelation from God—Joseph’s dream as a teenager vs. Paul’s encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus.

For others like Daniel and David, that preparation in prayer would happen before their initial callings were recognized—when David was anointed by Samuel and when Daniel was called before Nebuchadnezzar to interpret his dream.

“Called-Out” Ones

The word for Church in the New Testament is the Greek word, ἐκκλησία, which can literally be translated as “the called out.”

If someone is called out of something, someone must be doing the calling. In this sense, the word ἐκκλησία has the connotation of being an assembly of those called out by a king to hear his vision for how his kingdom should be.

Each person in the assembly has a unique calling or responsibility to fulfill in that kingdom.

Every individual has been called to fulfill a place and a job that no other member of the group can fill.

With the world in its current state, every individual who confesses Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord should at some point arrive at a place of seeking, understanding, and conforming to the unique calling God has for him or her.

This is the first and therefore most important purpose of prayer.

We can know about salvation through the preaching of the Word—and many other important things about living in the Kingdom—but God’s individual plan for each life can only be revealed and confirmed by those who seek Him in Spirit and in truth.

This is why I have spent years developing and expanding Kingdom School of Ministry. I believe it is so important that believers not only recognize the value of their calling, but receive the preparation they need to fulfill it.

Won’t you answer the call to accelerate your life by joining me for one life-changing week of intensive preparation?

It’s not too late to step up into all God has for you at KSM!

If God were to call you today, would you be ready?

Declare Your Independence from Mediocrity

“May He equip you with all you need for doing His will. May He produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to Him.”
Hebrews 13:21

Do you have a dream from God that you’ve been told is impossible?

Or maybe you’ve felt a gentle tugging on your heart that you’ve repeatedly dismissed for one reason or another.

Don’t let the clutter of the common keep you from greatness!

God has seeded greatness in you! Lean into Him for the wisdom, skills, and character that will position you for promotion.

If you’re not getting power from God every day to move you forward, you are not fulfilling your potential to impact the world on His behalf.

You are here to shape the world.

Become the difference maker, industry disruptor, innovative trendsetter, and market leader that sets new standards for what’s possible.

Get the equipping and encouragement you need to step into the fullness of all you’re called to be.

Breaking free from mediocrity will require you to get in step with the leadership of the Holy Spirit—and getting in step with the leading of the Holy Spirit will require you to chase after impossible dreams…

If we don’t rely on God’s abilities and wisdom every minute of every day to accomplish what He has put in our hearts to do, then we will always play small.

Faith is the key to taking the lead.

Faith in what God can do through you is how you turn this world upside right.

God will infuse your heart with His desires when you turn to Him—He will stir within you the ideas and insights you need to shape the world around you.

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
Psalm 37:4

If you are a child of God, you are led by His Spirit (see Romans 8:14), but it’s wholly up to you to tune into that Spirit.

This is what separates those who defy mediocrity from those who sleepwalk through life. You can remain among the masses held captive by the status quo, or you can follow the lead of God’s Spirit into the fullness of your potential.

You can’t be led by someone you rarely hear from.

Your level of faith is contingent upon your level of prayer.

In his book, Just Courage, Gary Haugen speaks of the calling and work of Mother Teresa:

“Mother Teresa said that she couldn’t imagine doing her work for more than thirty minutes without prayer. Do you and I have work that we can’t imagine doing for thirty minutes without prayer?”

If you don’t rely on instruction and strength from heaven for what you are doing throughout the day, then who are you really working for?

How can we overcome the problems our world faces without the power of God?

If what you are seeking to accomplish does not require you to pray hourly, could what you are striving to achieve be of any real significance?

After being baptized by John, the first message Jesus preached was on what the Kingdom of God is all about. In Luke 4:18-19 we read:

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

Today poverty still cripples the vast majority of the nations of our world. There are still people that go to bed hungry every night and don’t have access to clean water. Because of this, their children are often sick and many don’t live past the age of five.

Selfishness and oppressive circumstances still break apart families, lives, and hearts every day. Slavery and sex trafficking are more prevalent than ever in the history of the world—and much of it involves children.

Sickness, disease, and disabilities are still not a thing of the past. Murder and religious, racial, political, and economic oppression still ravage neighborhoods, nations, and continents.

Christ came to do much that still has not been done.

We must learn to effectively pray that…

  • we would be one with each other even as we become one with Jesus,
  • we would know His glory and power and see it manifested upon the earth,
  • we would exude His love so that everything we set our hands to will prosper.

As members of God’s family, we not only have the right but also the duty to go to our Father and ask for His plans, strategies, and resources to fulfill our mission, assignments, and purposes upon the earth.

Prayer is the conduit that not only reveals the will of God for our individual lives, but also helps make us the people we need to be to do the impossible.

It’s time to plug into that power like never before.

Learn how you can accomplish the impossible at Kingdom School of Ministry July 15-21.

It’s not too late for you to declare your independence, break free from mediocrity, and step up into all God has for you to do!

Now is the time to lead for a change!

Upgrade Your Dreams

“Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that…Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.”
Galatians 6:4-5 MSG

As we approach the half-way mark of 2018, I challenge you to check in with your dreams…

Are you where you hoped to be six months ago—back when you dreamed of all that was possible in the year ahead?

For those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere, summer is in full bloom, which seems to bring a fresh opportunity to cultivate a new harvest of possibilities.

What are you planting in your field of dreams?

This is the perfect time to take stock of the dream garden you’ve planted and notice whether it’s flourishing—or if it needs some tending to.

Are there signs of your dreams beginning to sprout, or have they been choked out by the weeds of distraction—smothered under daily obligations—overtaken by thorns of “busy-ness”?

Perhaps those dreams you planted at the start of the year are simply in need of some watering.

Be “alert to the condition of your lives.”
Hebrews 13:17

Ask God to show you where you’ve let your dreams “turn to seed” and how you can re-till the soil of your success.

Or ask Him to help you increase your capacity to dream bigger—to give you a larger field to cultivate as Jabez did:

“O, if only You would bring good to me and give me more land!”
1 Chronicles 4:10 NLV

Where is your faith holding you back?

How would you dream differently if you fully understood the nature of the Dream Giver?

How would you change what you asked for “if you knew the generosity of God” (John 4:10 MSG)?

“God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or dream.”
Ephesians 3:20

Whatever dreams you feel have withered on the vine, it’s not because they’re too big or out of reach for you!

If you put your trust in God, He’ll put His desires in your heart—so whatever your heart desires you can trust God to fulfill. (See Psalm 37:4.)

Ask God to plant a bigger dream in your heart.

Today I want to encourage you to dream again—to believe again.

What once stirred your heart that you have silenced? What have you put on hold?

Whatever you’re currently thinking about doing is probably too small—so as you read this, I challenge you to dream bigger!

God will never tell you to do something you don’t have the potential to do.

For the next 30 days, lay aside just 15 minutes a day to tend to the terrain of your dreams.

Write down your dream for the following seven areas in a notebook—it will be your “Dream Book.”

If you clarify and write down your dreams, God will bring the resources.

By the end of this year, six months from today, write about how you would like the following seven areas to look:

What is your dream for your…

1) Marriage — or your significant relationship in your life? If you’re still looking for that special relationship, write down in detail what you dream of that person being like.

2) Children — or the special young people in your life? Who do you dream of them becoming? And with that in mind, how do you dream of them progressing in the next six months?

3) Health — whether you dream of overcoming a health challenge, or improving your fitness. Write down your dream for how you want to feel six months from now, as well as how you want to look.

4) Legacy — or the lives you want to impact? Whose lives will you have positively influenced six months from now and in what ways?

5) Inheritance — or the material things you plan to bequeath to the people and causes you care about? Begin to dream now about the philanthropic or charitable impact you hope to make.

6) Education — or level of learning. How many books are you reading in a week or in a month? How many are loaded on your phone or device? Are you being strategic with the time and tools at your disposal?

7) Calling — or career? How will you have advanced by the end of this year? If you study your industry for just 30 minutes a day, you will become the go-to expert in your field!

Invest 15 minutes each day writing about your dreams, dreaming about your dreams, and strategizing about your dreams—and then by faith put energy into making those dreams a reality.

Dreamers are world changers and history makers.

It is people with dreams who change the trajectory of humanity.

Learn to cultivate your dreams. Your dreams could be what make all the difference in this world.

If you need to revive your capacity to dream, join me for Kingdom School of Ministry July 15-21. It’s the perfect mid-year reboot to get you back on track with God’s big dreams for you…

Have You Lost Your Keys?

“I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven; whatever doors you lock on earth shall be locked in heaven; and whatever doors you open on earth shall be open in heaven!”
Matthew 16:19 TLB

We all, on occasion, lose our keys….When it happens, it’s not only frustrating, but can cause us to panic as we frantically dig through a bag or a drawer, or rush to retrace our steps.

It can be disorienting when we reach for that key and its not there.

Although you have been given the keys to the Kingdom of God—keys that will unlock whatever door you need opened—sometimes you misplace them, or simply need reminding where and what they are.

There is no better place than Kingdom School of Ministry to restore your key ring—add new keys and rediscover others. And there is nothing more vital to living your best life than access to those keys.

The message most needed in the world today is the message of the Kingdom of God.

In Matthew 24:14, Jesus told His disciples, “The Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it, and then, finally, the end will come” (TLB).

The message of the Kingdom is what the gospel is all about…

…and the message of the Gospel is all about living more empowered lives.

To all who hear and heed it, the Gospel imparts the self-efficacy that gives meaning, hope, dignity, and purpose—and the full, abundant life Christ spoke of in John 10:10.

It is the “Good News about the Kingdom” that offers an ailing world the keys to new paradigms of health, righteousness, leadership, morality, ethics, and empowered living.

It’s the message that Jesus came to teach everywhere He went.

“I must preach the Good News of the Kingdom of God…because that is why I was sent.”
Luke 4:43 NLT

The term “Kingdom of God” has become a catchphrase in the Body of Christ.

Over time, our understanding of the Kingdom has been diluted by religious traditions, church denominations, and social conventions.

As a result, many believers lack a true understanding of the concept and therefore fail to wield their power and authority as co-rulers in Christ.

When translated, the word kingdom means “the king’s domain.”

The Kingdom is a literal, spiritual dimension accessible only to born-again believers.

This realm encompasses the power and resources essential to the believer if he or she desires to manifest heaven on earth.

In the Kingdom, life is lived within the context that God originally intended—and fulfills the mandate presented in Genesis 1:28.

“Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it.

The Kingdom of God has its own unique characteristics, consisting of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

It encompasses countless other principles, but these primary attributes reflect the power God purposed for His earthly kings—to whom He gave complete dominion over all that exists in the earth.

The Kingdom life can only be experienced by those who have faith in the ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

According to Luke 17:20, the Kingdom cannot be perceived by the natural eye because it is the sovereign rule of our “unseen” God through His citizens in the earth realm.

Jesus Christ emphatically proclaimed the Kingdom of God. Since He passionately promoted Kingdom living, it is wise to seek all that He purposed and planned for you from the very beginning of time.

Christ instructed us, above all other pursuits, to seek the Kingdom.

It should be our top priority, because it is from this realm our divine purpose, authority, and dominion are established.

Since the Kingdom of Heaven is within us, and we are in the earth, God rules and reigns over the earthly domain through His Church.

The Church must rise up and take her rightful place as God’s official representative, heir, and co-ruler in Christ Jesus.

Open the spirit of your mind and allow these principles of the Kingdom—which are based on truths found in the Word of God—to be seeded into the fertile soil of your heart.

Then, and only then, can the Kingdom be internally understood and externalized through you as a Kingdom Ambassador in the earth.

The greatest enemy of the Kingdom is not the devil or sin, but ignorance of the Word of God.

Hosea 4:6 states: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”

Being ignorant—or not knowing—is like being in the dark.

In Hebrew, the word for “darkness” is translated ignorance. Satan is known as the prince of darkness.

Satan’s number one goal is to keep you in darkness by keeping you ignorant of the Word of God in general, and of the Gospel of the Kingdom specifically.

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
Psalm 119:105

This is why Jesus taught the following parable in Luke 8:11-12:

“The seed is the word of God. Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.”

Yet, in the book of Daniel, there is a prophecy that refers to a time that God would establish a kingdom which would never be destroyed:

“In the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: And the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever” (Daniel 2:44; 1-5).

This Kingdom would be so powerful, it would consume all other kingdoms.

But you and I must be empowered with the knowledge of these truths for the Kingdom of Heaven to manifest in the earth—and to reign in every area of our lives.

This is why I’ve been teaching these principles and strategies for over thirty years—and developed eight powerful course intensives delivered over one immersive week during Kingdom School of Ministry.

Plan now to join me this summer for a transformational week of Kingdom teaching, training, and impartation. I promise it will dramatically change the trajectory of your life, ministry, or business!

“You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
1 Peter 2:9

“The Kingdom of God is at hand.”
Mark 1:15

Celebrating Prayer and Motherhood

“She is strong and is respected by the people. She looks forward to the future with joy. She speaks wise words and teaches others to be kind. She watches over her family and never wastes her time.”
Proverbs 31:25-27 NCV

This month we celebrate two of the most powerful and precious of all God’s gifts: prayer and motherhood.

In honor of last week’s National Day of Prayer and this weekend’s Mother’s Day Celebration—it is my joy to offer you a special prayer that I believe will recharge your life and redirect your destiny.

Click here for a fresh word to reboot your year and your future!

Like the wise mother spoken of in Proverbs 31, you too can clothe yourself with strength, open your mouth with wisdom, and look forward to the future with joy.

But likewise, you must not be complacent or “idle” as we see it translated in the New King James:

“Strength and honor are her clothing… She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness.”

To that end, I challenge you for the next 30 days to not only listen to, but to actively receive from the impartation I’m offering in this powerful prayer downloaded from heaven!

May is a month of new beginnings; it is a time of regeneration and rebirth—a time to call out and bring forth the beauty of His glory, the majesty of His greatness, and the unlimited potential God has seeded in you.

“With God all things are possible.”
Matthew 19:26

I am reminded that in biblical numerology, five is the number of grace and favor—and this being the 5th month of the year makes it the perfect time to tap into the grace and favor of God.

Now is the time to break up the fallow ground in your life so new growth can come forth. Sow into the weeks and months ahead by joining with me in declaring a blessing over your life every day for the next 30 days…

I declare that this year is pregnant with purpose, promise, and potential…

I declare this moment is your defining moment marking the ending of a discouraging history, and the beginning of a prosperous, debt-free, disease-free, depression-free destiny…

I declare that you will forever live under an open heaven!

You must be proactive and diligent to look after the affairs of your life and your future. Rarely does success “just happen”—rather, you will find it where you’ve invested a great deal of focused intention, mindfulness, and prayer.

Prayer, as we’ve seen throughout the Bible and in the lives of history’s great men and women, is the kingpin of success.

Extraordinary history makers are formed through extraordinary prayer.

And much of that extraordinary prayer has been put forth by ordinary mothers.

There may be no prayer more powerful than that of a mother interceding on behalf of her child; certainly there is no prayer more broadly caring or deeply loving than that of a concerned mom.

Christendom’s earliest history makers—from St. Augustine to Emperor Constantine, from Martin Luther to John and Charles Wesley—had mothers who were, at the time, famous for their lifestyle of fervent, intercessory prayer.

Fathers of country and faith—from George Washington to Billy Graham—also had mothers who were instrumental in paving their destinies through the dedication of their faith-filled prayers.

“I remember my mother’s prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life.”
—Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln also said, “All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.” And it was Billy Graham who stated, “Only God Himself fully appreciates the influence of a Christian mother in the molding of character in her children.”

In honor of the world’s great mentors, servant leaders, and champions of prayer—all mothers everywhere—I encourage you to make this a time you rededicate yourself to prayer: As mothers have done throughout time, help make history by making prayer a priority.

“The impression that a praying mother leaves upon her children is lifelong.”
—D.L. Moody

Take charge of your destiny by recharging your daily prayer practice. Whether you are a mother being celebrated, or simply celebrating your mother, now is the time to reboot your life—and possibly change history—through the power of prayer.

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, in whatever we ask, we know that we have what we have asked of Him.”
John 5:14-15

What’s In Your DNA?

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, in order that He might be the firstborn among many brothers.”
Romans 8:28-29

In our last 4 Points Broadcast, we introduced a brand new series called “The DNA of Destiny.” If you missed it, you can listen to it now on demand.

This week, we’ll be taking another deep dive into your divine genetics.

Tune in LIVE this Thursday to the 4 Points Broadcast at 7pm ET!

There is nothing like being part of the 4 Points online community in real time! PLAN NOW to join the conversation and participate in the virtual prayer room.

My ongoing prayer is that you will receive a fresh word and the personal ministry you need right where you are.

God will speak to you if you only tune in.

I want to help you grow up into the fullness of your divine destiny.

Every day I encounter believers whose growth is stunted—they never grow up into all that God has for them, and I know it breaks God’s heart even more than it does mine.

And the world we live in is the worse for it.

It’s time we understood the DNA of our own destinies.

The world needs the Body of Christ to grow up and step out from the shadows. We must each build ourselves up “in our most holy faith” as Jude tells us to do in his letter. (See verse 20.)

Each of us must learn to hear God’s voice and follow it.

We have too many “generals” doing their own thing rather than doing God’s thing—and too many foot soldiers who are doing too little or nothing at all.

Too few are getting in on the big conversation that is going on in God’s throne room!

The answers are there—the long-term solutions are there—but the Church has yet to grow out of toddlerhood.

Instead, we crawl around in our playpens self-absorbed, bickering, and crying—too lost in our own shortcomings to listen in and translate God’s instructions into programs of action and victory upon the earth.

Toddlers don’t transform kingdoms—at least not in good ways.

If we want to plug into the purposes, plans, and strategies of heaven, we must endure the rigors of the boot camp of prayer.

Prayer is in your DNA.

However, as with any other skill or talent, you must cultivate it. Success in life as well as victory on the battle field takes discipline, competence, and excellence.

That’s why your heavenly Father, like any good dad, coach, captain, or mentor, wants you to reach your full potential.

Too many of us want to be coddled rather than disciplined.

“Do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by Him. For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and chastises every son whom He receives…For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
Hebrews 12:5-6,11 ESV

If we kids are going to stay “in the family business,” we need to keep in closer contact with God Our Father than just coming by on Sundays for brunch. At the very minimum, we should be receiving daily instruction—if not hourly.

If we are doing something truly world-changing, then we should be in even more frequent communication. We should have regular planning meetings and strategy summits together with God and each other.

We should be in constant communication about every detail of what needs to be done in every moment of every day.

There is a maturing process that happens through prayer.

We learn to endure the times of silence in prayer as well as the times of overflowing revelation.

We should also be partnering together in faithfully stewarding this Family business, “joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, caus[ing] growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love” (Ephesians 4:16).

It is only when we can do this that nothing shall be impossible for us.

We must learn to work together as a family—to receive God’s grace for ourselves, and minister that grace to one another.

Staying closely connected as we pursue the course He sets before us will cause us to grow up in Him as a strong, healthy, and mature Body. There will be nothing we can’t ultimately accomplish as we stay knit together in close relationship with Him.

Peter speaks of this growing up process as we continually present ourselves to God in prayer:

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
1 Peter 5:6-7, emphasis added

When is “due time”?

It is when we are mature enough for God to promote us into our next phase of responsibility and leadership authority without our childishness derailing the blessing.

Friends, it’s time to grow up.

To fast track your growth, join me for Kingdom School of Ministry. There is nothing like it in the world that will take you to the next level in God—and launch you into the next level of your ministry—as quickly.

Make this the year you grow into all God has for you!

Learn to Hear and Follow the Voice of God

“For the Lord God does nothing without revealing His secret to His servants the prophets. The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken; who can but prophesy?”
Amos 3:7-8 ESV

The Church is in a season of restoration: God is about to revolutionize the world through the prophetic and apostolic anointings currently being released upon the earth.

These are the days of Elijah and the era prophesied about by Joel. These are the days when our sons and daughters will prophecy!

Truths that are being reestablished today in quantum fashion will seem elementary tomorrow.

The hour is at hand when we must vigilantly seek biblical truth concerning the heart and mind of God, His will for our lives, and the destiny of nations.

There is a call as never heard before, beckoning to those willing to press into the things of heaven—summoning explorers, trailblazers, and pioneers to new spiritual frontiers.

The spirit realm is light years ahead of the natural realm.

Those who dare to enter the prophetic realm eagerly anticipate time catching up with eternity.

These adventurers will discover the things prepared for us before the foundation of the world and will resoundingly say: “The whole earth is filled with His glory!”

God is releasing a strong prophetic anointing among His people.

And as a result, the enemy has stepped up his resistance by rousing a counterfeit.

Psychics are popping up everywhere. They are amongst the many false prophets the Bible states will characterize “the last days.” (See 1 John 4:1-11; 2 Peter 2:1; 2 Corinthians 11:13.)

These false prophets represent a counter-movement to Joel’s prophecy, which speaks of a time when the Holy Spirit would be lavishly poured out upon God’s people.

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions
Joel 2:28

The book of Acts records the actual manifestation of this prophecy generations later.

The second chapter of Acts tells of the day when the disciples had power poured upon them “from on high” as Jesus foretold in Luke 24:49. From there, multitudes were filled with the Spirit, as evidenced by speaking in tongues and prophecy. (See Acts 2:4-12.)

Unfortunately, controversy surrounds the validity of modern day prophets.

Paul explained it this way to the church in Corinth: “For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away” (1 Corinthians 13:9-10 KJV).

I believe “that which is perfect” refers to the second coming of our Lord. This event has not yet happened; therefore prophets and prophecy have not yet been done away with.

Prophecy is an established ministry gift that God has placed in the Church

“God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues.”
1 Corinthians 12:28

Clearly, God values His prophets. (See Deuteronomy 29:9-29; 30:14.)

Vine’s Bible Dictionary defines the New Testament word for prophet as “a proclaimer of a divine message.”

There is a strong heritage of prophets and examples of prophecy from the time Jesus began walking the earth all the way through the first centuries of the early church.

From John the Baptist (see Matthew 11:9) to Jesus the Christ (see Acts 7:37) to Judas and Silas (see Acts 15:32), prophecy has been a central theme throughout the New Testament—and should continue to be so today.

“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.”
Ephesians 4:11-12

In the New Testament, prophetic ministry is for the purpose of encouraging, comforting and building up the family of God within the Church. It is one of the five-fold ministries established to equip God’s people for “works of service.”

But more so, the prophet and prophetic bring unity. A word fitly spoken in due season binds the Body closer together—and where there is unity, you’ll find every good thing. (Unlike where there is envy and strife, as we read about in James 3:16.)

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! For there the Lord commanded the blessing—Life forevermore.”
Psalm 133:1-3

Prophecy is an essential ministry gift. However, you don’t have to be a prophet to prophesy. You can learn to operate in the prophetic and hone this skill as you would any other with practice.

All believers are called to lay hands on the sick, intercede for the lost, share the gospel, discern God’s will, and disciple others, although not all walk in the office of pastor, teacher, prophet, or evangelist. You can give tithing through mobile giving to your church to help them reach others and share God’s lessons.

All of us are called to encourage and exhort one another by all means possible.

“But one who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them.”
Corinthians 14:3

So what is the difference between the office of the prophet, the gift of prophecy, and operating in the prophetic? And how has the role of prophecy changed from the Old Testament to the New?

These are some of the questions we explore in depth at Kingdom School of Ministry. In fact, one of eight powerful course intensives is dedicated exclusively to the study of Prophets and Prophecy.

“The Sovereign Lord never does anything until he reveals his plans to his servants the prophets.”
Amos 3:7

Yes, the role of prophet and prophecy has changed over the course of biblical history. Where in the Old Testament the Prophet—with a capital “P”—was assigned by God to rebuke and call to repentance, a prophet in the New Testament is stirred primarily to confirm and comfort.

Following in the footsteps of our mentor and model Christ Jesus, the greatest Prophet of all, who foretold that you and I would do even greater works than He did—we must each, as carriers of Christ, press into how we can manifest this precious gift given us to “strengthen, encourage, and comfort” one another.

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.”
John 14:12

Won’t you join me for Kingdom School of Ministry to learn how you can have greater impact on the world around you for Christ? Get into the prophetic flow of God and join the movement!

The True Measure of Greatness

“They…have given themselves to the service of God’s people. I beg you, my friends, to follow the leadership of such people as these, and of anyone else who works and serves with them.

1 Corinthians 16:15-15 GNT

You have probably heard a great deal about the importance of servant leadership, but you might be surprised where you see it most revealed.

Think about what makes a company or brand great.

What is it about companies such as the Ritz Carlton, Chanel, Nordstrom, and Apple that make their names synonymous with excellence and exclusivity?

It’s not only about the quality of their distinctive products, but also the stellar service they provide. Companies such as these don’t over-promise and under-deliver. They consistently over-deliver.

Simply put, they deliver the “wow” every time.

This type of service is what servant leadership is all about, and it should be the heartbeat of every Helps & Hospitality ministry across the Body of Christ.

Does your company or church culture have this same service-minded, zero-defects approach?

Acquiring the proper attitude and posture toward Helps & Hospitality is more than just understanding the concept of “service,” it is one of the essential elements that will set your business, ministry, or personal brand head and shoulders above the rest.

It is the “X-Factor” in business, ministry, and personal success.

With all of the Kingdom authority to which we have access, we must also recognize that the power to lead influentially is found exclusively in the willingness to serve. The former cannot exist and be effective without the latter.

If these brands have built industry monopolies and family dynasties by getting the “how can I serve you” approach right, imagine what God could do if the Church understood that Helps & Hospitality is less about ushers and deacons, and more about industry-specific, transformational servant-leadership.

If your context is wrong your conclusion will be wrong.

Serving is not a demeaning role that we give individuals who we think are “talentless.”

Throughout the Bible, the existence of vibrant helps ministries and proactive hospitality are evident. Yet in the modern church era, we seem to have relegated this vital ministry to the bottom of the proverbial totem pole.

Traditionally and religiously, the Helps & Hospitality Ministry has been perceived as both menial and mundane; activities reserved for those who are not really “called into ministry” in an official capacity.

Helps & Hospitality is at the center of God’s best will for the Church.

When you discover that the entire Godhead serves, you will begin to realize that the concept of Six-Sigma service is as ancient as God Himself—who first introduced this concept to humanity in the very first chapter of Genesis.

Even Jesus saw the necessity of ensuring this fundamental strategy was instituted as an integral part of His earthly ministry.

His disciples, working in the capacity of “helps,” assisted Him in organizing, serving, and ministering to the thousands that were drawn to Him. By so doing, they complemented and strengthened all that Jesus did, while at the same time freeing Him to hear from God on behalf of the people.

Because of this important dynamic, the proper development and implementation of the Helps Ministry should be of highest priority.

The Ministry of Helps is the heart and soul of any organization.

In the corporate arena, we call it “Customer Service” or “Client Relations.” Without it, organizations would rapidly decline and shutter their doors. Quality customer service is the front-line touch point of any marketplace endeavor.

The hospitality industry is a multi-billion dollar machinery. This statement alone should prove to you the worth and value of this mission-critical ministry.

From concierge services to airlines, hotels to hospitals, technology to telecom, restaurants to retail, and luxury spas to luxury car dealerships, customer service is front and center.

Families such as the Marriotts and Hiltons have built their dynasties and created monopolies just by implementing the principles of quality service.

When the prescribed order is followed in the Ministry of Helps & Hospitality, the vision and mission of the Church, as well as your businesses, will be executed with excellence—impacting the bottom line and elevating the perceived value of your message or brand.

Every industry is competing for the same dollar.

Therefore, you would do well to approach developing your church or ministry from this market perspective.

Your competition is not another ministry; it is the world-class multinational corporations who like you are in the people business.

If you want to drive the perceived value of your organization up, then drive the Helps & Hospitality department up to industry “Six-Sigma” standards.

The proper posture and attitude toward servanthood is an essential element of effective ministry.

Although we have access to unlimited Kingdom authority, we must recognize that the power to influence others comes from a willingness to serve.

Examples of the Ministry of Helps appear throughout Scripture: From Jethro offering his son-in-law Moses advice to Barnabas supporting Paul’s ministry…

…helpers have always allowed God’s leaders to focus on the ministry at hand.

And as we stated above, the greatest leader of all, Christ Jesus, understood the vital importance of this ministry as we see recorded throughout the Gospels. (See Mark 6:34-43, 10:46-49, 14:13-16, and Matthew 21:1-6.)

Your key to success in the Kingdom and in the marketplace is harnessing the transformative power of servant leadership—power that comes through an accurate understanding and skilled implementation of the principles of Helps & Hospitality.
